Indian Summer Weekend
Took a deep breath as I dove into the day's first set of shoppers. One single parent and one pair of parents watch each of their toddlers duke it out for 12"-wheeled supremacy. The first of many juggling acts I performed today. The crying commenced on lap 16, or was it 26? Both racers were pulled, kicking and screaming, as I furiously scribbled info on business cards. Neither racer won though, I mean if winning meant leaving with a bike. Pre-Christmas shopping and all. Souped-up window shopping. 'Twas hectic.
And everyone is getting the idea around here, including me. Summer's not over after all. Rode with the Oakland Yellow Jackets Saturday. Pristine. The morning's beauty only eclipsed by a more beautiful Sunday morning. Charleston and Jason made for a fantastic wind shadow on the tandem. I repaid the favor by coming around them on the downhill like the punk kid I still sometimes am. Couldn't help it, I just had to represent for the 30 minus set.
